DURHAM, N.H. – The University of New Hampshire women's basketball program, led by second-year head coach Megan Shoniker, announced Tuesday that Sam Eller (Olney, Md.), Ella Getz (Wayland, Mass.) and Scarlet LeVake (Catharpin, Va.) have signed their commitment to the program.
"I am excited to welcome Ella, Sam, and Scarlet to our Wildcat Family," Shoniker said. "All three of these young ladies possess the intangibles that we want to continue to build our program on. They are selfless and competitive with blue collar work ethics. Each of them fits what it means to be a UNH Wildcat – they are great human beings who excel in the classroom and compete on the court."
Name Pos. Ht. Hometown / School
Sam Eller G 5-11 Olney, Md. / Saint John's College High School
Ella Getz G/F 6-1 Wayland, Mass. / Worcester Academy
Scarlet LeVake F/C 6-2 Catharpin, Va. / Red Bank Catholic High School
Eller is a senior at Saint John's College High School (Washington, D.C.), where she was named to the DCSAA Second Team and WCAC Honorable Mention as a junior in the 2024-25 season. The 5-foot-11 guard is a four-year letterwinner who was also named the 2025 Rose Classic Superjam New York MVP. Eller also competes for the Fairfax Stars AAU Program
"Sam is a big guard who competes on both ends of the floor, rebounds, and brings an elite ability to shoot the ball," Shoniker said. "She is tough, scrappy, and does not back down from anyone which I absolutely love. Sam has played against some of the best in the country on the EYBL circuit and throughout her high school career at St. John's College so she understands what it takes to compete at a high level."
Getz is a 6-1 guard/forward at Worcester Academy who led the Hilltoppers to the Class AA NEPSAC championship as a junior captain in 2024-25, when she was named to the All-NEPSAC Team and a NEPSAC Class AA All-Star. Her statistics included 11.5 points per game, 6.2 rebounds per game and 2.3 steals per game.
In the 2023-24 season at Wayland Academy, Getz was selected a Metrowest co-All Star, Thomas E. Blackburn All-Tournament Team and the Westborough Invitational MVP. As a freshman at Wayland, she received All-Scholastic Honorable Mention in addition to Dual County League MVP, Dual County League All-Star and Dual County League All-League honors.
Getz also plays AAU ball for the Bay State Jaguars.
"Ella is a skilled post that can play inside and outside and has a good feel for the game," Shoniker said. "Her versatility and skillset fit our style of play perfectly, but it's Ella's basketball character that makes her most impactful. She is someone every coach wants on their team as she is a selfless teammate and willing to do whatever is asked of her. She isn't afraid of the dirty work – she'll defend, rebound, and be the first to the floor for a loose ball."
LeVake is a 6-2 forward/center at Red Bank Catholic High School. She previously attended St. Paul VI Catholic High School and is a four-year varsity letterwinner. LeVake helped her Red Bank Catholic team to a Shore Conference championship as a junior in 2024-25, and won a state title with Paul VI Catholic as a freshman. LeVake ended her AAU career playing for the New Jersey Shoreshots.
LeVake's academic honors include National Honor Society and Principals Honor Roll.
"Scarlet is a work horse," Shoniker said. "She runs the floor, she competes on the defensive end, and she battles on the boards. She has great footwork and the ability to finish with either hand. Scarlet has been coached by some of the best basketball minds in N.J. and understands what it takes to work, learn, and win. She is a gym rat who embraces the process of getting better so I believe her best basketball is head of her."
This trio marks as the second high school recruiting class under head coach Megan Shoniker. Eller, Getz and LeVake all bring great size, length and versatility within their respective positions. Their championship DNA at their previous schools will make for a seamless transition into the culture and play style of the UNH women's basketball program.
UNH returns to action Nov. 20 (3pm) at Army West Point. The Wildcats' next home game is Dec. 5 (11am) against Merrimack College for Education Day.
