DeChent Leads Wildcats Past Binghamton in Blowout Win

DURHAM, N.H. – The University of New Hampshire women's basketball team picked up a dominant 65-38 win over Binghamton on Thursday evening at Lundholm Gym.
Sophomore guard Eva DeChent (Westchester, N.Y.) led the way with 23 points, eight rebounds, three assists and three steals. Freshman guard Elizabeth Lavoie (Derry, N.H.) added 12 points, five rebounds, and three 3-pointers.
The Wildcats improve to 10-17 on the season (4-10 America East), while the Bearcats drop to 14-13 (6-8).

- Binghamton held a 16-15 lead after one.

- The teams traded baskets early, with the score tied at 26-26 at the media timeout (3:43).

- Lavoie knocked down back-to-back 3-pointers to push the lead to double digits (45-33) with 5:07 to go in the third.
- The Wildcats ended the quarter on a 9-2 run, capped by a DeChent layup, taking a 54-35 advantage into the fourth.

- The 'Cats scored the first eight points of the fourth quarter to make it 63-35 with 6:02 left.
- Graduate student guard Sydney Lusher (Oneida, N.Y.) made a free throw line jumper to give UNH its largest lead of the game (65-36).
- The Wildcats held Binghamton to just 10 second-half points and one field goal in the fourth, securing the 65-38 victory.

- UNH shot an efficient .471 (24-for-51) from the field, while holding Binghamton to .333 (18-for-54).
