UNH Upended at UAlbany, 17-4

ALBANY, N.Y. – Senior captain Allie Connerty (Norwell, Mass.) scored three goals but the University of New Hampshire women's lacrosse team was defeated 17-4 by UAlbany at John Fallon Field on Saturday afternoon.
Freshman goalkeeper Ellie Thomas (Needham, Mass.) was credited with 11 saves. Junior Rose Pavuk (York, Maine) scored UNH's other goal.
UAlbany was led offensively by Dylana Williams (four goals), Courtney Rowe (3g, 1a) and Ava Poupard (2g, 2a). Grace Cincebox made seven saves.
UNH moves to 2-10 overall and 0-4 in America East while UAlbany is now 4-8, 2-1.

FIRST QUARTER
- UAlbany scored the first seven goals of the game to build a 7-0 lead at 4:07.
- Pavuk scored a goal in transition when UNH gained possession on a caused turnover and ground ball by Julia Gronda (Pompton Plains, N.J.). She quickly advanced the ball to midfield, where Pavuk raced past a pair of defenders as she entered the attack zone and fired a shot under the crossbar at 2:36.
SECOND QUARTER
- The Great Danes slowly edged out to a 10-1 lead at 6:09.
- From behind the net, Connerty curled around the right post to the middle of the fan, where she sidearmed a shot inside the left post at 4:32.
- UAlbany scored goals 13 seconds apart to build a double-digit lead, 12-2, at 3:27.
THIRD QUARTER
- The home team scored goals at 13:34 and 12:18 to extend the advantage to 14-2.
- Connerty scored her second goal of the game at 9:53 when she dodged past a defender from the right side of the fan to the middle and sent a low shot into the net.
- UAlbany added two more tallies in the third quarter to take a 16-3 lead.
FOURTH QUARTER
- The Great Danes pushed the margin to 14 goals at 9:16.
- From the top of the 12-meter, Gronda slipped a pass low on the right side to Connerty, who continued to the middle of the fan and dropped her crosse low to change the angle and score on a low shot with 52 seconds left.
UNH NOTEBOOK
- Connerty and Pavuk both extended their goal and point streaks to nine games. Connerty has 27 points (19 goals, eight assists) while Pavuk has 23 points (14g, 9a).
- Connerty is No. 5 on UNH's career assist leaderboard with 71. She has 57 goals and 71 assists for 128 points in 54 games.
- Thomas, who entered the weekend ranked No. 3 in the nation in saves per game, recorded 10+ saves for the 11th time in 12 games.
- Paige Kenny (Kensington, Md.) recorded a team-high three ground balls.
- Five 'Cats were recorded with one caused turnover.
- Gronda and Pavuk both had one draw control.
