Dunn Records Five Points in 18-7 Loss to Holy Cross

DURHAM, N.H. – Grad student Liv Dunn (Newbury, Mass.) recorded five points but the University of New Hampshire women's lacrosse team was defeated 18-7 by the College of the Holy Cross on Saturday afternoon at Wildcat Stadium.
Dunn finished the game with season highs in goals (three), assists (two) and points (five). Grace Curran (North Salem, N.Y.; two goals) and Allie Connerty (Norwell, Mass.; two assists) also tallied multiple points. Olivia O'Connor (Hopkinton, Mass.) and Audrey Mirak (Concord, Mass.) were UNH's other goal scorers.
UNH goalkeeper Maria Hagan (Downers Grove, Ill.) was credited with 11 saves. HC counterpart Tori Cini made six saves. Sally Zinser (three goals, two assists) and Ella Kittredge (four goals) led the Crusaders' offense.
Both New Hampshire and Holy Cross are now 2-2.

FIRST QUARTER
- Holy Cross recorded an 11-7 shot advantage and led 5-4 through 15 minutes.
- Zinser gave the Crusaders a 1-0 lead at 9:59.
- Curran corralled a pass from Connerty on the right side, doubled back toward the net and dove toward the near post before firing a shot into the goal to tie the score, 1-1, at 9:18.
- HC scored goals 62 seconds apart to build a 3-1 advantage at 7:01.
- Curran scored on a behind-the-back shot at 4:29 and Dunn, who assisted that goal, scored at 3:08 to forge a 3-3 tie.
- After Holy Cross regained the lead at 1:45, Connerty found O'Connor cutting down the right side for her first goal of the season to pull the Wildcats even, 4-4, with 26 seconds on the clock.
- Kittredge was awarded a free position with 11 second left and converted to give the visitors a 5-4 lead.
SECOND QUARTER
- Holy Cross pulled away in the second quarter with a 14-4 shot advantage that produced a 9-0 edge in goals to build a 14-4 advantage.
- Mackenzie Creagh's goal at 4:05 pushed the margin to double digits.
THIRD QUARTER
- Both teams scored one goal in the third quarter.
- Dunn drove from the right wing and scored on a low shot to trim the deficit to single digits, 14-5, at 13:03.
FOURTH QUARTER
- Dunn netted her third goal of the game at 12:56 when Erin Fagan (Clarksburg, Md.) lofted a pass from the right side to the top of the goalie circle, where Dunn was alone and pump-faked before beating Cini for the goal.
- Mirak one-timed Dunn's centering pass at the front of the net for a goal at 9:34.
GAME NOTEBOOK
- Holy Cross finished with the edge in shots (39-18), shots on goal (29-13), ground balls (20-16) and draw controls (21-9).
- The Crusaders also committed one less turnover (12-13).
- HC was 12-for-13 on clear attempts in comparison to UNH's 13 of 18.
- The visitors scored on 4 of 7 free-position shots. The Wildcats were 0-for-4.
UNH NOTEBOOK
- Hagan recorded double-digit saves for the second consecutive game; she had a season-high 12 last Saturday vs. Detroit Mercy.
- Julia Lucey (Topsfield, Mass.) tallied a team-high four ground balls.
- Lucey and Ava Schroeder (Niskayuna, N.Y.) led the 'Cats with two caused turnovers.
- Mackenzie MacEachern (Bedford, N.H.) had a team-best three draw controls.
SERIES NOTEBOOK
- UNH has an 18-4 lifetime record against Holy Cross.
- This was the first meeting between these programs since 2017.
