UNH ties a program-best final national rank
KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The University of New Hampshire men's soccer team is ranked No. 9 in the final United Soccer Coaches National Poll of the season. This is the sixth time out of the last seven seasons that UNH has been ranked in the final poll as the Wildcats were No. 14 in 2017, No. 22 in 2019, No. 19 in 2020, No. 9 in 2021 and No. 21 in 2022. UNH also is No. 13 in the final RPI of the season.
The Wildcats concluded another outstanding season posting a 13-3-4 record (4-0-3 AE) and advancing to the Round of 16 of the NCAA Tournament for the third time in program history. UNH was the No. 8 seed in the NCAA Tournament which was the highest seed in program history. The Wildcats defeated defending national champions Syracuse, 3-0, in the second round and then fell to No. 9 seed and eventual national champions Clemson, 1-0, in the first-ever Round of 16 game played at Wildcat Stadium.
UNH appeared in the NCAA Tournament for the seventh straight season as only four teams have made the NCAA Tournament seven consecutive seasons from 2017-23 (UNH, Indiana, Wake Forest and Georgetown).
The 'Cats won the America East Regular Season Championship for the fifth straight season and are only the second program to win five consecutive titles. UNH's 0.643 team goals against average ranked third in the nation, while its .750 winning percentage was ninth nationally.
