Grasso is the fourth Wildcat to win the award starting in 1992.
WAKEFIELD, Mass. – Senior assistant captain Patrick Grasso (Ankeny, Iowa) has won the Len Ceglarski Individual Sportsmanship Award as announced by Hockey East. This award, named in honor of Len Ceglarski who was the head coach at Boston College from 1972-1992, is given by the league to one player who has consistently demonstrated superior conduct and sportsmanship on the ice. The directors of Hockey East established the Len Ceglarski Sportsmanship Award in 1992.
Grasso is now the fourth UNH Wildcat to earn this honor. Joe Flanagan won the inaugural award in 1992, while Todd Hall received this recognition in 1996 and Steve Saviano won the award in 2004.
This season, Grasso has been called for only one penalty and nine for his career. Grasso has demonstrated strong leadership over his career as he has been named an assistant captain twice.

Grasso currently has 49 goals and 48 assists for 97 career points over 137 games. He is tied for sixth in the nation in career goals by active players, while he is 16th in points. Grasso is second with 25 career power play goals and is tied for 10th with 10 career game-winning goals. This season, he is third on the team with seven goals, while he is fourth with eight assists and 15 points.
No. 9 seed UNH defeated No. 8 seed Maine on Wednesday by a 7-2 score in the Opening Round of the 2021 Hockey East Tournament to advance to the Quarterfinals. The Wildcats will play at No. 1-nationally ranked and top seed Boston College on Sunday, March 14 at 4:30 p.m. on NESN. UNH went 1-1-0 versus Boston College this season. The Wildcats won 4-3 in overtime at Conte Forum on Jan. 8 and then were edged by BC 3-2 in overtime at the Whittemore Center on Jan. 10.
