ALBANY, N.Y. – Ivy Gogolin(Hopkinton, Mass.) registered a game-high 16 points and pulled down a team-leading six rebounds, but the UNH women's basketball was defeated 59-47 by UAlbany in Saturday afternoon's America East contest at SEFCU Arena.
The Great Danes improve to 3-6, 2-3 in AE action, while the Wildcats slip to 4-10, 4-7. The teams meet again Sunday at 2 p.m. on ESPN+.
Gogolin shot 6 of 8 (75 percent) from the field and hit all four of her free throws to spearhead a perfect 8-of-8 showing at the line for America East's top FT-shooting team.
Amanda Torres had 10 points, three assists, two steals and two rebounds
Amanda Torres (Hudson, N.H.) added 10 points, three assists, two steals and two rebounds, and Héléna Delaruelle (Enghien-les-Bains, France) finished with six points, five assists and four rebounds.
UAlbany was led by Kyara Frames (12 points) and Helene Haegerstrand (10 points) and three other Danes (Ellen Hahne, Lucia Decortes, Fatima Lee) scored eight points.
The Great Danes posted a 33-19 rebounding advantage, with Hahne leading the way with 10 boards.
UAlbany went 7-for-20 from 3-point distance, while UNH shot 1 of 9 behind the arc.
Héléna Delaruelle dished out a game-high five assists

The Wildcats had alternated wins and losses for seven straight games dating back to Dec. 29 before sustaining their second straight defeat.
UNH, which won last year's meeting in Albany, has lost 10 of its last 11 at SEFCU Arena.
Torres played 36 minutes. She entered the weekend ranked fifth nationally in minutes played.
The Wildcats are 0-4 in back-end games in 2021; their last "Game 2" win was Dec. 6 against NJIT (59-53).
UAlbany head coach Colleen Mullen is a UNH alumna who is ranked 17th in 3-pointers and 19th in assists despite only spending two seasons as a Wildcat.
