THE MATCHUP
UNH has a 19-23 record vs. UAlbany that includes last year's sweep with a 48-47 win at SEFCU and 56-53 victory at Lundholm Gym. Prior to last January, the Wildcats had lost 10 consecutive road games to the Great Danes (dating back to Jan. 22, 2010).
STORYLINES
UNH head coach Kelsey Hogan and UAlbany head coach Colleen Mullen were both point guards at UNH.
Hogan was a three time captain who earned All-Conference First Team recognition before graduating in 2014.
Hogan is ranked No. 2 all-time at UNH in free throw percentage (.807), No. 4 in assists (375) and No. 12 in points (1,181).
UNH advanced to the AE semifinals the second consecutive year in Hogan's senior season, when the 'Cats went 19-12 overall and 12-4 in the conference.
At the time of her graduation, Mullen ranked 13th on UNH's all-time assist list (218) and sixth in 3-pointers (78) despite playing just two seasons as a Wildcat; she is currently 19th in assists and 17th in 3-pointers.
In her two seasons ('02 & '03), UNH went 29-29 overall, including 16-16 in America East, with a pair of semifinal appearances.
Senior guard Amanda Torres enters the weekend No. 5 in the nation in minutes played (478 minutes, 26 seconds). She also ranks 22nd in steals with 30.
The Wildcats have alternated wins and losses the past seven games (dating back to Dec. 29, 2020).
UNH has split each of the past three America East weekend series vs. Maine, at Binghamton and vs. Stony Brook with wins in Game 1 and losses in Game 2.
This will be New Hampshire's second trip to the Empire State in three weeks; the Wildcats were at Binghamton University on Jan. 10-11. This will also be third consecutive week the Wildcats tip off against a team from New York; the 'Cats played host to Stony Brook (Jan. 16-17) between the road trips.
