UNH Faces BC, Merrimack on Weekend Road Trip (Fri., 2 P.M., NESN | Sat., 2 P.M., CBS Digital)

DURHAM, N.H. - After a mid-week home tilt, the University of New Hampshire women's ice hockey team heads to Massachusetts for a two-game road series in Chestnut Hill and North Andover.
New Hampshire faces Boston College on Friday, February 7 at Conte Forum at Merrimack College on Saturday, February 8. Both games are slated for a 2 P.M. puck drop; Friday's game will be broadcast on NESN, Saturday's will be streamed on CBS CollegeSportsLive.
The Wildcats will return home to the Whittemore Center two more times this regular season; their next home contest is next Saturday, February 15 at 2 P.M. against Boston University.
TIGHT PLAYOFF RACE
The Wildcats find themselves in sixth place entering the week; positions 4-6, which consist of Providence, UConn, and UNH are all separated by one to two points each. Boston College sits in third with 28 points, followed by Providence (25), UConn (24), and UNH (22). The Wildcats have five Hockey East games remaining this season, with 10 conference points up for grabs in those contests. Places 4-7 have enough games in hand to finish anywhere from 2nd place to 8th place in the final standings.
LAST TIME OUT
- The Wildcats faced a mid-week non-conference bout with Granite State rival Dartmouth College on Tuesday evening. The Wildcats took their third straight victory between the two schools with a 3-1 win at the Whittemore Center.
- UNH goals came from seniors Nicole Dunbar (Coto de Caza, Calif.) in the first, Meghara McManus (Milton, Mass.) in the second, and sophomore Lauren Martin (Cambridge, Ontario) with a power play goal late in the second.
- Dartmouth was able to get one back in the third, but were thwarted through the first two periods by freshman netminder Ava Thewes (Clarkston, Mich.) who notched her first career win with a 21-save effort.
ABOUT BC
- The Eagles (Chestnut Hill, Mass.) are coming off a 4-0 loss to Boston University in the first round of the Beanpot.
- BC most recently faced off with Providence and Holy Cross in the previous two weekends of Hockey East play. The Eagles split the series with Providence, defeating the Friars 2-1 at home in overtime, and falling on the road 5-2. The Eagles hosted Holy Cross the following Friday and took down the Crusaders 8-3.
- Last season the two teams split the season series 1-1-1; so far this season BC leads after a 5-2 home victory back in November.
- Friday's contest is BC's only Hockey East matchup of the weekend as the Eagles face the Harvard Crimson in the consolation round of the women's Beanpot this coming Tuesday.

- The Warriors (North Andover, Mass.) come into the weekend on an 11-game winless streak dating back to November.
- Merrimack faced Providence College in last weekend's Hockey East slate, falling to the Friars 3-0 in Rhode Island.
