Hilary Witt Named Finalist for Hockey East Coach of the Year

Witt guided the Wildcats to a 16-16-3 finish in the 2025-26 campaign.
AMESBURY, Mass. — University of New Hampshire women's ice hockey head coach Hilary Witt was named a finalist Hockey East Coach of the Year on Monday (March 2).
Witt guided the Wildcats to a 16-16-3 record in the 2025-26 campaign, including a 10-12-2 record in Hockey East action, a 5-11-1 record at home, and an 11-5-2 mark on the road, setting a new career-best for road wins in a season from any New Hampshire team coached by Witt. In addition, the Wildcats' 11 road wins mark the first time a New Hampshire team has reached 10+ road wins since the 2008-09 season, when the 'Cats finished 10-5-2 in away matchups.
With the team's 16 wins, Witt reached the third-most victories in a season in her 12-year career in Durham. Additionally, the Wildcats' 16-16-3 finish marks the team's third-consecutive season reaching 15+ wins, the first streak since the 2009-10 season when the 'Cats finished 19-9-5.
Hockey East will announce the winner for Coach of the Year in the coming days.
