Women's Hockey Tops No. 13 Holy Cross, 3-2

Seven players tallied a point in the win.
WORCESTER, Mass. — The University of New Hampshire women's ice hockey skated past No. 13 Holy Cross (18-10-2, 10-9-2 HEA) on Saturday evening (Feb. 7) at the Hart Center, winning 3-2.
HOW IT HAPPENED
-New Hampshire opened the scoring 5:42 into the opening frame, when Nina Rossi (Pittsgrove, N.J.) took a feed from Danika Botterill (Portage La Prairie, Manitoba) into the Crusaders' zone before dancing along the blue line, finding Alyson Hush (Scarborough, Ontario) in the high slot on a between the legs pass, who fired past Holy Cross' Abby Hornung for the 1-0 lead.
-The Crusaders knotted things up at 1-1 6:55 into the second period, when Charlotte Sonntag recovered the puck in front of the net, beating the traffic in front for the equalizer.
-The Wildcats recovered their advantage with 6:14 to go in the middle frame, when Botterill took a pass from Alex Therien (Ottawa, Ontario) at the left-side face-off circle and fired on net, hitting a Holy Cross defender and recovering for a follow-up shot, this time beating Hornung for the lead.
-Just 28 seconds later, Josie Linn (Excelsior, Minn.) skated in on net with the puck, finding Addison Spitz (Grosse Pointe, Mich.) in front for a shot try before being deflected to the stick of Kelly Harty (Billerica, Mass.), who fired on net for her team-leading 15th goal of the season.
-Holy Cross found their second score of the game midway through the third period when Reghan Chadwick finished on a loose puck in front of the net, bringing about the final 3-2 score.

-12 different Wildcats landed a shot on net in the win, paced by Kelly Harty with five tries on goal in the win. Additionally, seven different players finished the night with at least three tries on net.
-On special teams, the Wildcats went one-for-five on the power-play while denying four-of-five extra attacker opportunities from Holy Cross.
-On defense, nine different players landed a block, paced by Aurora Kahlert (Maple Ridge, British Columbia) with three blocks.
-In net, Noemi Martinez (Glen Ridge, N.J.) closed her night in net denying 33-of-35 shots faced, good for a .943 save percentage and her third straight win as a starter.
