HOW IT HAPPENED
-The Wildcats broke onto the scoreboard in the early going of the first period, when an Addison Spitz (Grosse Pointe, Mich.) try popped out of the traffic in front before landing at the stick of Josie Linn (Excelsior, Minn.), who fired on an opening in net to make it 1-0.

-The 'Cats further extended their lead early in the second period, when Alyson Hush (Scarborough, Canada) took a feed from Nina Rossi (Pittsgrove, N.J.) in the high slot, firing on Lyons, who deflected the puck back to Danika Botterill (Portage La Prairie, Manitoba) for the power-play score.
-Merrimack got one back midway through the middle frame, when Maria Lindberg took a centering pass from McKenzie Cerrato, before collecting her own pass rebound off a skate, firing on net to make it 3-1.
-With 2:21 to play in the game, Kelly Harty (Billerica, Mass.) fired on net from her own zone, finding the back of the empty net to push to score ahead 4-1.
