These teams have met five times in postseason play – all in the America East semifinals. New Hampshire won each of the first three tourney tilts (2004, 2005, 2009), but UAlbany has prevailed the past two (2011, 2013).
UNH's most recent win was in a 2009 America East semifinal at Boston U (17-9).
Back on April 6 at UAlbany's Tom & Mary Casey Stadium, the Great Danes scored the first five goals of the game and took a 6-1 lead into halftime. UNH roared back within 7-6 at 18:03 of the second half, but the home team responded with goals 33 seconds apart to build a 9-6 lead at 14:25. The Wildcats scored five consecutive goals to surge ahead 11-9 at 7:41. UAlbany tied the score, 11-11, with 52 seconds remaining, won the ensuing draw control and struck again with 15 seconds on the clock to regain the lead, 12-11. The home team also controlled the next draw to secure the win.
Last year at UNH's Bremner Field, UAlbany scored the first three goals and raced out to a 6-1 lead; the Wildcats closed within 10-6, but the visitors closed the game on a 4-2 run to record a 14-8 win.
