DURHAM, N.H. – The University of New Hampshire women's ice hockey team, now fourth place in Hockey East with two weekends remaining in the regular season, heads to Chestnut Hill for game three of the season series with the #3 Boston College Eagles. The Wildcats finished the month of January with a 4-4-1 overall record, but could only get one point from Maine last weekend in a 2-2 tie. The game will be available on ESPN3 and the WatchESPN app on Friday, Feb. 9 at 2:00 P.M.
The Matchup: BC vs. New Hampshire
The Wildcats lead the all-time series between the two teams, but the Eagles have held a recent advantage, winning the last 12 matchups. The two teams played a home-and-home earlier this season, with BC taking the first game at home, 6-0, and winning the second game at the Whittemore Center, 5-1.
The State of New Hampshire
• The Wildcats finished the first half of the season with a 9-6-5 overall record through 20 games; it was the teams' first winning record through 20 games since 2009-10, when the Wildcats had a .750 winning percentage, going 13-3-4.

The Wildcats traveled up to Orono, Maine to face the Black Bears in a two game series; the Wildcats came back from 2-1 down in the third period to tie game one, 2-2, but fell in the Saturday game by a score of 3-0. Amy Schlagel (Blaine, Minn.) and Julia Fedeski (Alogonquin Highlands, Ontario) both had a multi-point game with a goal and an assist in the 2-2 tie.
Players to Watch
• Senior defensemen Amy Schlagel and Julia Fedeski were both drafted to NWHL teams this offseason, Schlagel going 18th overall to the Buffalo Beauts, and Fedeski going 20th overall to the Boston Pride. They're the first two Wildcats to be drafted to a NWHL team before graduating.
• Fedeski is tied for the second most points on the team with 17 points on seven goals and 10 assists. Six of her seven goals this season have come on the power play; two of her goals were game winners.
• Schlagel has now tallied a team-high 11 goals and four assists for 15 points on the season. Schlagel has six power play goals and two game winners.
• Sophomore forward Meghara McManus (Milton, Mass.) is tied for the team lead in points with 18 on 10 goals and eight assists. She had her second mutli-goal game of her career against Northeastern. She had an assist on the game-winning, short-handed goal to take down #8 Providence.
• Sophomore forward Taylor Wenczkowski (Rochester, N.H.) is also at 18 points on the season. She has 11 assists, second-best on the team, and has tallied seven goals. Four of her seven goals were power play goals. Wenczkowski also leads the team in conference points with 13.
• Sophomore forward Carlee Turner (Scottsdale, Ariz.) is at 17 points after her multi-goal game against Quinnipiac, the second of her career; She has eight goals and nine assists. She scored her first power play goal of the season against Vermont. Turner is second on the team in points tallied in conference games with 11.
• Sophomore forward Nicole Dunbar (Coto de Caza, Calif.) has 15 points on the season with seven goals and eight assists. Dunbar had the game-winning goal against Holy Cross, and most recently in overtime against Northeastern. She also tallied goals against Yale and Boston College.
• Senior forward Carlee Toews (Grand Prairie, Alberta) had a multi-assist game against Quinnipiac is now up to 14 points on 11 assists, tied for the second-highest assist total on the team. Of her three goals, two have been game winners, including a short-handed goal against #8 Providence.
• Sophomore defender Tori Howran (Bancroft, Ontario) has the team lead in assists with 12, adding in 1 goal for 13 points on the season. Howran scored her first career goal this season in a 9-1 victory over Holy Cross.
Boutilier Gets the Start
Freshman goaltender Ava Boutilier (Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island) has gotten the start in 27 of UNH's 31 games this season; she has an 11-9-7 record in her first 27 career starts, stopping 785 shots and allowing 59 goals. She has a .925 save percentage and a 2.19 GAA in her first career season. Boutilier got her first career shutout against #8 Providence.
Return of Smith
Junior goaltender Kyra Smith (Littleton, Colo.) got her first action of the season in December, starting two games with a 2-0-0 record and earning two straight Hockey East Defensive Player of the Week awards. Smith is 2-2-0 on the season with 104 saves and nine goals allowed for a .920 save percentage and 2.48 GAA.
Three-Time Player of the Week
After a 2-0-0 weekend against Quinnipiac, Ava Boutilier was named the Hockey East Pro Ambitions Rookie of the week on Jan. 29, her third weekly honor of the season and first Rookie of the Week distinction.
Take It To Overtime
The Wildcats have played 10 overtime games this season; so far, they are undefeated in games that require an extra period, with a 3-0-7 record. They are outshooting opponents 27-23 in overtime.
Ranked Woes

The Eagles (Chestnut Hill, Mass.) coming into the weekend already claiming the regular season Hockey East title, securing a #1 seed for the fifth straight season. The Eagles are on a seven-game win streak since Jan. 12 when they were upset by Northeastern, 4-2. Their most recent victory came against Northeastern in the first round of the Beanpot, 5-2.
The Eagles are led by freshman forward Daryl Watts, who has a NCAA-best 71 points on 36 goals and 35 assists. Sophomore forward Caitrin Lonergan follows behind with 64 points on 27 goals and 37 assists.
In net, the Eagles have seen Katie Burt start all 30 games with a 25-2-3 record, setting the NCAA record for most career wins. Burt comes into the weekend with a .928 save percentage and a 2.05 GAA.
