Jordan Ties Career High of 19 Points in 69-63 Loss to Quinnipiac

DURHAM, N.H. – Elijah Jordan (Orlando, Fla.) matched his career high of 19 points but the University of New Hampshire was edged 69-63 by Quinnipiac University at Lundholm Gym on Tuesday night.
Jordan shot 7-for-16 from the floor, including 4 of 6 on 3-pointers. The four 3's also tied a personal best. Jordan Reed (Lucas, Texas) netted 17 points – one less than his career high – on 6 of 10 shooting; he made a pair of 3-pointers and all three free throw attempts. Josh Hopkins (Greensboro, N.C.) finished with 14 points, including a pair of 3's.
QU was led by Jacob Rigoni (23 points, nine rebounds) and Cameron Young (17 points). Kevin Marfo recorded four points and game-high 14 rebounds – as well as a game-high four assists – before fouling out.
UNH is now 2-3. Quinnipiac, which led 61-59 with 2:52 remaining, outscored the hosts 8-4 the rest of the way improve to 1-2 on the season.

FIRST HALF
- The Wildcats started off the game strong with Jordan sinking a 3-pointer just 14 seconds into the game.
- At the first media timeout of the game, UNH trailed Quinnipiac 8-7.
- The contest was tight between the Bobcats and the Wildcats with Quinnipiac leading 12-10 halfway through the first half.
- Each of QU's next six field goals was a 3-pointer as the visitors build a 30-13 lead at 5:40.
- Another three by Rigoni gave the Bobcats the largest lead of the game of 19 points, 35-16, at 3:17.
- UNH went on a 9-2 run the next two minutes to trim the deficit to 37-25.
- Rigoni hit two free throws with one second on the clock and the half ended with the score at 39-25 in favor of Quinnipiac.
SECOND HALF
- The second half kicked off for New Hampshire with a jumper from Jordan, and his 3-pointer lifted the 'Cats within 10 points, 50-40, at 11:24.
- Midway through the second half, both teams had added 15 points totals to advance the score to 54-40.
- The Wildcats built momentum to trim the deficit to single digits, 56-47, and it continued when Chris Lester (Barrington, Ill.) hit his first career 3-pointer with 6:41 left in the game to bring the score to 56-50.
- After the Bobcats extended the lead to 61-50, a layup from Nick Guadarrama (Newington, Conn.) ignited a 9-0 run. Reed followed with a three-point play and two foul shots, then Hopkins hit a short jumper to make it 61-59 at 2:52.
- Still trailing by two, the 'Cats committed a turnover each of the next two possessions.
- QU then converted a long inbounds pass into a three-point play by Rigoni to give the visitors a 64-59 lead at 2:02. Another three-point play, this time by Cameron Young, pushed the margin to 67-59 at 1:16.
- The Wildcats never got closer than six points the rest of the way.
UNH NOTEBOOK
- This was UNH's first home loss of the season. The Wildcats are now 2-1 at Lundholm Gym.
- This was the first game of the season decided by fewer than 24 points.
- In his first career start, Jayden Martinez (Cibolo, Texas) recorded four rebounds and a steal in nine minutes.
- In his first start of the season – second career – Luke Rosinski (Derry, N.H.) tallied one point and one steal in 18 minutes.
- Lester finished with five points and a team-high six rebounds.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- UNH shot 34.9 percent (22-63) from the floor. Quinnipiac made 23 of 57 field goal attempts (40.4%).
- QU was 12-for-30 (40.0%) on 3-pointers in comparison to the Wildcts' 37.5% (9-24).
- Neither team shot well from the foul line. QU made 11 of 21 (52.4%) and UNH was 10-for-16 (62.5%).
- The visitors finished with a 50-33 rebounding advantage, including 15-11 on the offensive glass.
- The Bobcats recorded the edge in points in the paint (22-16), second-chance points (17-13) and fastbreak points (7-0).
- UNH had the advantage in points off turnovers (16-8), as the Wildcats committed 11 turnovers in comparison to the Bobcats' 20.
