El Shakery, Bike Receive America East All-Conference Awards

BOSTON – Redshirt sophomore Belal El Shakery (Alexandria, Egypt) and freshman Tyler Bike (Merrimack, N.H.) of the University of New Hampshire men's basketball team were named to the America East All-Conference Third Team and All-Rookie Team, respectively, on Friday.
UNH is the No. 8 seed in the Air Force Reserve 2026 America East Men's Basketball Playoffs and plays at top-seeded UMBC in a March 7 (1pm) quarterfinal.
El Shakery, a first-year Wildcat, leads America East in rebounding (8.2 rpg) and defensive rebounding (6.1/game), and he is No. 4 in offensive rebounding (2.0/game). El Shakery is also seventh in blocks (0.7/game) and 10th in steals (1.1/game)
The 6-foot-8, 230-pound forward leads UNH in scoring (11.1 ppg), rebounding, defensive rebounds, offensive rebounds, field goals made (129) and attempted (303), free throw attempts (104), steals (31) and blocks (21). He is also third in free throws made (51), as well as fourth in minutes (26.3 per game).
El Shakery led UNH in points (23), rebounds (12), assists (five) and steals (two) in the 88-83 double OT win vs. Bryant University on March 3. The 23 points and five assists both marked career highs, and it was his seventh career double-double. Also of note, he shot 73.3% from the field (11 of 15).
El Shakery has been the top rebounder in 19 of 28 games played – he was a DNP Feb. 28 at UAlbany. He has also led UNH in points eight times, steals 12 times and blocks 10 times.
El Shakery also has a team-leading seven double-doubles, including the 18-point, 13-rebound effort Jan. 10 at UMBC. His other highlights include 19 points at Harvard and 18 points against both Boston U. and UMBC.
El Shakery has led New Hampshire in both points and rebounds six times, most recently March 3 vs. Bryant (23 points, 12 rebounds). He previously led UNH in both scoring and rebounding three consecutive games at Harvard, vs. Emmanuel and at George Mason.
Bike ranks No. 4 in America East in 3-point field goal percentage (38.1%) and No. 10 in 3-point field goals made per game (1.8).
Bike, the conference Rookie of the Week on Jan. 20, has played all 29 games with 14 starts, including each of the last 13 games. In the first seven games of this consecutive start streak, Bike was UNH's top scorer at 11.4 ppg on the strength of shooting a team-high 39.1% from 3-point range (18-46); the 18 3-pointers also led the team in that seven-game stretch.
For the season, he is second in 3-pointers with 53 and has made multiple 3-pointers in 19 of 29 games, including each of the last five with 14 makes in that span.
One of the biggest 3-pointers of the season was Bike's game-tying shot with 0.3 seconds left in regulation to send the game into overtime, where UNH defeated Bryant University, 88-83, in double OT of the regular-season finale.
Bike has scored in double digits nine of the past 13 games with a career-high 19 vs. Binghamton (Jan. 22); he made five 3's in that game.
In 29 games overall, Bike is averaging 7.5 points, 2.1 assists and 1.7 rebounds in 23.3 minutes per game.
