Foster Inducted into N.H. Legends of Hockey Hall of Fame

CONCORD, N.H. - University of New Hampshire 2010 graduate and current UNH goaltender coach Brian Foster has been inducted into the New Hampshire Legends of Hockey Hall of Fame on Sunday at a ceremony at the Grappone Conference Center in Concord. Bob Gaudet, Rich Ryerson, Brendan Creagh, Don McKinnon and the late Anthony Urban were also inducted.
The native of Pembroke, N.H., Foster was an All-American for the Wildcats as a senior in the 2009-2010 season. Also as a senior he earned first team All-Hockey East honors and was named to the All-New England team.
Foster is sixth all-time in program history in saves (2,387), and seventh in games played (86), save percentage (.910) and goal against average (2.82).
Foster finished his Wildcat career with a 40-29-13 record and posted five shutouts.
Foster was selected by the Florida Panthers in the fifth round (161st overall) of the 2005 NHL Entry Draft. He made his NHL debut with the Panthers on Feb. 4, 2012. Foster also played professionally for the San Antonio Rampage (AHL), Cincinnati Cyclones (ECHL), Lillehamer IK (Norwegian GET-ligaen), Esbjerg Energy (Danish League), Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins (AHL) and Wheeling Nailers (ECHL).

- The UNH men's hockey team will return to action for the home opener at the Whittemore Center on Saturday, Oct. 27 versus Vermont at 7:00 p.m. The first 1,000 fans will receive the official game day t-shirt.

- Young fans are encouraged to wear a Halloween costume and trick-or-treat on the concourse. The best costume will be recognized during the game. If any of the 'Cats score a hat trick, fans can use their ticket to redeem a free popcorn at the next home game.
