Wooters Scores Twice in 20-3 America East Semi Loss at Stony Brook

STONY BROOK, N.Y. – Carly Wooters (White Plains, N.Y.) scored two goals as the University of New Hampshire women's lacrosse team was defeated 20-3 by No. 4 Stony Brook University in Friday night's America East semifinal game at LaValle Stadium.
UNH, the tourney's fourth seed by virtue of a 3-3 conference record, ends the 2017 season at 3-14. Stony Brook, the top seed with an undefeated 6-0 league record for the third consecutive year, extended its win streak to 12 games to improve to 17-1 and advance to Sunday's tourney title game.
Devon Croke (Norwell,Mass.), named to the America East All-Conference Second Team the eve of the tourney, scored the Wildcats' other goal. UNH goalkeeper Kate Clancy (Barrington, R.I.) was credited with two saves, two ground balls and one caused turnover.
SBU was led offensively by Samantha DiSalvo (4g, 4a) and Kylie Ohlmiller (1g, 7a). Taryn Ohlmiller and Dorrien VanDyke both scored three goals. Anna Tesoriero made two saves.

GAME RECAP
- Stony Brook scored goals 54 seconds apart – at 28:16 and 27:22 – to quickly take a 2-0 lead, and then strikes 69 seconds apart – at 23:08 and 21:59 – extended the advantage to 4-0 and prompted UNH to call time out.
- It was the Seawolves, however, who scored one minute later to build a five-goal advantage.
- Croke drove from outside the top-left corner of the fan to the middle before rifling a shot under the crossbar at 20:31.
- SBU closed the half on an 8-0 run to take a 13-1 lead into halftime, and the Seawolves scored the initial six goals of the second half to build a 19-1 cushion.
- On a free position from the top-right side, Wooters advanced and ripped shot high into the goal at 10:25.
- Wooters scored on another free position from almost the same spot, but this time she placed a hard shot inside the left post to close the scoring at 1:34.
'CAT NIPS
- Wooters, who was also credited with two ground balls and two draw controls, ended the season with a 12-game point streak and five-game goal streak. She tallied a point in 16 of 17 games.
- Croke ends her career on a seven-game point streak in which she tallied 15 goals and six assists for 21 points.
- Senior captain Marissa Gurello (Manorville, N.Y.) tallied a team-high three ground balls, one draw control and one caused turnover.
- Senior captain Hope Kissick (Cohasset, Mass.) finished with two ground balls and one caused turnover.
- The end of the 2017 season marked the end of UNH women's lacrosse careers for seven seniors – Croke, Gurello, Kissick, Lily Ford (Holderness, N.H.), Amy LeBel (Charlton, N.Y.), Francesca LoVerde (Chicago, Ill.) and Lexi Moirano (Vero Beach, Fla.).
