The Series: UNH vs. Northeastern
Wednesday's game will be the 137th meeting of the Huskies and the Wildcats. Northeastern has held the advantage in the last six regular season matchups at 5-1-0, while the Wildcats hold the all-time advantage at 80-47-9. The Wildcats and the Huskies met most recently in the post season in the 2014-15 Hockey East Quarterfinals, where the third seeded Huskies dropped game one to the sixth seeded Wildcats 4-2, but then won games two and three 3-2 and 4-3.
The Wildcats are 39-24-2 in road games against Northeastern, and the last UNH victory in this series happened at Northeastern when New Hampshire defeated Northeastern 3-2 in overtime on Jan. 6, 2017.

The Wildcats are coming off a 6-1 defeat of intra-state rival Dartmouth. Sophomore forward Meghara McManus (Milton, Mass.) and senior forward Carlee Toews (Grand Prairie, Alberta) both notched their first career five-point games as McManus tallied a short-handed goal and four assists, and Toews had three assisted and scored two goals, one of them the game-winner.
'Cat Nips
•Senior defensemen Amy Schlagel (Blaine, Minn.) and Julia Fedeski (Algonquin Highlands, Ontario) were both drafted to NWHL teams this offseason, Schlagel going 18th overall to the Buffalo Beauts, and Fedeski going 20th overall to the Boston Pride.
• Fedeski is tied for the team lead with nine points (4g, 5a). All four of her goals have come on the power play. Fedeksi had a three-point day against Dartmouth (1g, 2a).
• Schlagel has three points on one goal and two assists on the season.
• McManus, after her five-point day against Dartmouth, McManus is now tied with Fedeski for the team lead in points with nine (4g, 5a). McManus had a two-goal game against Vermont, including the game-tying goal with 12 seconds remaining in regulation. McManus was named Hockey East Player of the week for her eight points on the weekend.
• Toews is now third in points on the team with six. She has two goals and four assists, with her first two goals coming against Dartmouth.
• Junior forward Devan Taylor (North Billerica, Mass.) has five points on four goals and one assist. Taylor had the game-winning goal against Vermont in the final minute of overtime.
• Tori Howran (Bancroft, Ontario) also has five points on one goal and four assists. She tallied her first career goal against Holy Cross, adding two assists that afternoon for her first career three-point day.
• Nicole Dunbar (Coto De Caza, Calif.) is one of five players with four points on three goals and one assist. Her assist came on the game-winning goal to Taylor at Vermont. Dunbar has one game-winning goal on the season.
• Other 'Cats at four points so far are senior captain Kate Haslett (Rothesay, New Brunswick) who tallied her first three points of the season against Holy Cross and added an assist at Vermont, Taylor Wenczkowski (Rochester, N.H.) with two goals and two assists, both goals coming on the power play, and junior captain Marie-Jo Pelletier (Dalhousie, New Brunswick) who now has one goal and three assists after one assist against Dartmouth.
Boutilier Gets the Start
Freshman goaltender Ava Boutilier (Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island) has started all five games for the Wildcats this season. She touts a 4-0-1 overall record and has made 123 saves in her first season. She has allowed seven goals for a 1.56 GAA and has a .939 through four games.
Scouting Northeastern
The Huskies (Boston, Mass.) come into the week ranked 7th in the nation in the USCHO.com polls. They have played eight games for a 4-3-1 overall record, and have yet to lose a Hockey East game with a 2-0-0 record.
Northeastern is coming off a two-game sweep at Syracuse, winning both games by a score of 5-1. In their last five they are 2-2-1, 1-0-0 in Hockey East.
The Huskies are led by freshman forward Veronika Pettey, who has eight points with four goals and assists, including a power play goal and a game-winning goal. Junior forward Kasidy Anderson has three goals and four assists for seven, and senior forwards McKenna Brand and Denisa Krížová each have six points (Brand 5g, 1a ; Krížová 2g, 4a).
Junior goaltender Brittany Bugalski has started all eight games this season; she has made 183 saves and allowed 20 goals for a .901 savepercentage and a 2.61 GAA.
