The Series: UNH vs. Dartmouth
This will be the 57th meeting of the Wildcats and the Big Green; Dartmouth has held the advantage in the last five of six games played, with UNH taking a game at the Whittemore Center. Overall the Wildcats are 20-5-3 when hosting the Big Green.
The State of New Hampshire
- UNH improved to 3-0-1 after defeating Vermont on Friday evening.
- New Hampshire is now 2-0-1 in conference after the 5-4 overtime victory at Vermont.
- The Wildcats are on a three game winning streak, and are on their best start through four games since 2009-10 season, when the Wildcats started 4-0-0.
- New Hampshire is averaging 4.50 goals per game while allowing 1.75. UNH also averages 7.50 assists and 12.0 points per game.

Last Time Out
For the first time all season, the Wildcats trailed after the first and second periods. Vermont held a 2-1 lead after one and a 4-2 lead after two, but with a two-goal effort from Meghara McManus (Milton, Mass.), the first of her career, and Devan Taylor (North Billerica, Mass.) the Wildcats were able to come from behind and tie the game with 12 seconds left in regulation, and win the game with 18 seconds left in overtime.
'Cat Nips
• Senior defensemen Amy Schlagel (Blaine, Minn.) and Julia Fedeski (Algonquin Highlands, Ontario) were both drafted to NWHL teams this offseason, Schlagel going 18th overall to the Buffalo Beauts, and Fedeski going 20th overall to the Boston Pride.
• Fedeski leads the team with six points (3g, 3a) after tallying a three-point day against Holy Cross last Saturday and assisting on two goals (including the game-tieing goal) at Vermont. All three of her goals have come on the power play.
• Schlagel has only one goal and one assist this season for a total of two points.
• Junior forward Devan Taylor (North Billerica, Mass.) has scored two goals in two straight games, with the game-winner in overtime at Vermont. She also threw in an assist against Holy Cross for five points on the season.
• Nicole Dunbar (Coto De Caza, Calif.) is one of five players with four points on three goals and one assist. Her assist came on the game-winning goal to Taylor at Vermont. Dunbar has one game-winning goal on the season.
• Senior captain Kate Haslett (Rothesay, New Brunswick) tallied her first three points of the season against Holy Cross and added an assist at Vermont for four points on the season. Other Wildcats with four points are Tori Howran (Bancroft, Ontario) after tallying her first career goal along with two assists against the Crusaders, and another against Vermont, and McManus who tallied the game-tying goal at Vermont (3g,1a).
Boutilier Gets the Start
Freshman goaltender Ava Boutilier (Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island) has started all three games for the Wildcats this season. She touts a 3-0-1 overall record and has made 102 saves in her first season. She has allowed seven goals for a 1.69 GAA and has a .936 through four games.
Scouting Dartmouth
The Dartmouth Big Green (Hanover, N.H.) will be seeing their first action of the 2017-18 season this weekend, traveling to Cambridge, Mass. on Friday evening to face Harvard, before traveling to Durham to face the Wildcats.
Dartmouth lost their opening game to Harvard, 4-1 on Friday evening. Their lone point scorers were Caroline Shaunessy scoring the goal and Christina Rombault getting the assist. Their goal came in the third period to cut the lead to 2-1, but Harvard tallied two more as an answer back.
The Big Green lose their top two scorers from last season, but will return their third-highest scorer from the 2016-17 season, sophomore Rombaut, who scored four goals and five assists for a total of nine points last year. Junior Alyssa Baker also tallied nine points last season on one goal, eight assists.
Losing a senior goaltender in net, the Big Green will possibly look to returning junior Christine Honor, who saw action in six games last season. She started in four games with a 1-4-0 record. In her career she has started seven games, has a 1-6-0 record, .902 save%, and 2.87 GAA. Honor got the start against Harvard and stopped 39 shots in the loss.
