Strong Women’s Soccer First Half Erased by Wake Forest, 4-0

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Freshman Liz Lane (Porter, Maine) recorded two shots on goal as the University of New Hampshire women's soccer team fell 4-0 to the ACC's Wake Forest University Sunday afternoon at Spry Stadium.

Highlights
-1st half-
The Wildcats did a good job on defense in the first half only asking Borkan to make three saves. The Demon Deacons had very few dangerous chances and UNH went into the locker room at halftime tied 0-0 with a team who has scored 15 goals this season to the opponents one.
-2nd half-
Just four minutes in the second frame, Romano buried the first goal off a cross into the box that was tapped her way on the right side for an open look. Six minutes later, Wake Forest had a very similar goal happen following a through ball and a touch to the right side to Brock. New Hampshire couldn't get the offense going as the Deacons controlled most of the play. Wake Forest's Baumgardner buried a low line-drive shot from the left side just inside the far post in the 57th minute followed by a free kick by Perea which curled around the wall and inside the right post for the final tally in the 77th minute.
