Murphy’s Five Points Topples Holy Cross, 3-2

WORCESTER, Mass. – Junior Brooke Murphy (Monson, Mass.) finished with five points, two goals and one assist, to lead the University of New Hampshire women's soccer team to a 3-2 victory over the College of the Holy Cross Sunday afternoon.

Just about 17 minutes in the first half, Lane buried her first career goal on an assist from Murphy. Lane received a pass on the far side and had an open tap in for a 1-0 lead. Murphy secured her own goal in the 37th minute on a rebound from a shot by Prince.
-2nd Half-
Murphy tallied her second goal of the game in the 79th minute from Williams. The freshman crossed it across the box and Murphy had an easy finish on the opposite side. Holy Cross scored their first goal just a few minutes later and then scored the second goal to reduce the deficit to one, 3-2, in the 86th minute. UNH held on defensively for the victory.
