RIVERDALE, N.Y. – Carly Wooters (White Plains, N.Y.) recorded a career-high five points and Nicole Grote (Ellicott City, Md.) tallied six points, but the University of New Hampshire women's lacrosse team lost 13-11 to Manhattan College on Saturday at Gaelic Park.

GAME RECAP

Stefanie Ranagan scored 88 seconds into the game and Manhattan led the rest of the way. She struck again 41 seconds later to give the Jaspers a 2-0 lead.
Marissa Gurello (Manorville, N.Y.) pulled the Wildcats within one goal just 45 seconds later, at 27:06, but the home team responded with consecutive goals at 25:20 and 23:37 to extend the advantage to 4-1.
Wooters and Laura McHoul (Westwood, Mass.) scored goals 35 seconds apart to once again lift UNH within one goal, 4-3, at 21:32.
Grote recorded her first of six points by setting up Krissy Schafer (Longmeadow, Mass.) to advance the score to 5-4 in favor of Manhattan, which reeled off the next four goals and took a 9-5 lead into halftime.
Back-to-back goals from Gurello and Grote trimmed the deficit to 11-9 with 11:03 remaining in regulation, but the Jaspers netted the next two goals (at 6:54 and 2:41) to push the margin back to four goals.
UNH didn't go quietly, however, as Devon Croke (Norwell, Mass.) finished a feed from Wooters at 2:03 and then she set up Grote's tally at 1:40 to lift the 'Cats within 13-11.
Manhattan gained possession on the ensuing draw control, however. New Hampshire was issued two yellow cards while attempting to get the ball back, which they eventually did with 19 seconds left.

This was the first ever meeting between these programs.
