THE MATCHUP
UNH has a 21-20-3 overall record, including 8-7-2 on the road, against UMass. The Minutewomen have won five straight in the series dating back to the Wildcats' 11-8 win at UMass in March 2010. In the most recent matchup at UMass (March 2014), theMinutewomen prevailed  12-6.

Last year, UMass raced out to a 6-2 halftime lead en route to a 12-7 victory at Cowell Stadium. UNH opened the second half with consecutive goals and trailed 7-5 with 18:31 on the clock. UMass scored three goals in less than three minutes to establish a 10-5 lead and the Wildcats never got closer than four goals the rest of the way. The shots were even at 21 while the visitors held the slight edge in both ground balls (15-14) and draw controls (12-9); UNH committed one less turnover (13-14).

Prior to the current streak in favor of UMass, the Wildcats won five straight spanning the 2006-10 seasons.
SEXTON GARNERS TWO AMERICA EAST ACCOLADES
Freshman attacker Catherine Sexton was named Offensive Player of the Week and Rookie of the Week by America East on Feb. 16. Sexton recorded a team-high four points (two goals, two assists) to lead UNH to a 14-8 victory against Hofstra University in the Feb. 13 season opener at Cowell Stadium. She opened the game scoring at 3:23 to ignite a 4-0 run, and Hofstra never got closer than three goals the rest of the way. Sexton helped ensure that by recording an assist on UNH's fifth and sixth goals. She also scored a second-half goal and tallied her two goals on just three shots.

WILDCATS ROAR PAST HOFSTRA WITH BALANCED ATTACK
A total of six Wildcats recorded multiple points in New Hampshire's 14-8 season-opening victory against Hofstra last Saturday at Cowell Stadium. Catherine Sexton led the way with four points (2g, 2a). Sophomore Krissy Schafer matched her career highs in both goals and points with three goals, while seniors Nicole Grote and Laura McHoul both finished with two goals and an assist. Sophomores Rebecca Sennott and Carly Wooters both recorded their first career multiple-point game with a goal and an assist.

CAREER FIRSTS
A pair of freshman recorded their first career point in the season-opening victory. Catherine Sexton scored at 3:22 of the first half and Savanna Fiehler tallied her first collegiate point on a goal with five seconds left in the first half.

GET THE BALL
Four 'Cats recorded at least one tally in the ground ball, draw control and caused turnover columns. Hope Kissick tied for the team lead in ground balls (three) and also tallied one DC and one CTO. Devan Miller and Rebecca Sennott both tallied two draw, one GB and one CTO, as well as one goal; Sennott also had an assist. Lizzie Suschana finished with a team-best two caused turnovers as well as one GB and one DC.

103 AND COUNTING
Senior attacker Laura McHoul entered the 2016 season as UNH's record holder for career assists with 102; she supplanted Karen Geromini, who tallied 101 assists, as the record holder last season. McHoul tallied one assist in the season opener vs. Hofstra to increase her record total to 103.

McHoul broke New Hampshire's single-season assist record with 39 in the 2014 season. She also holds No. 3 with 33 in 2013 and No. 5 with 30 in 2015.

CLIMBING THE ALL-TIME POINTS LIST
Laura McHoul enters Saturday's game at UMass with 66 goals and 103 assists for 169 points in 50 career games; those calculate to averages of 1.32 gpg, 2.06 apg and 3.38 ppg.

McHoul is currently No. 9 on the program's all-time points leaderboard. Ahead of her are No. 8 Pauline Collins (178) and No. 7 Liz Brickley (179).

LAST LINE OF DEFENSE
Sophomore goalkeeper Kate Clancy returns to reprise her role as starting goalkeeper. She stopped half of the 16 shots on goal by Hofstra to earn the victory in last weekend's season opener against the Pride.

Clancy started all 16 games last season and played 895:51 of a possible 966:00 minutes (90.0%) finished with an 11.50 GAA and .380 save percentage. She recorded double-digit saves three times, including 12 in back-to-back games against Drexel and Denver.

The Wildcats return 21 letter winners, including seven starters, from last year's 6-10 squad that went 2-4 in America East.

Fourth-year head coach Sarah Albrecht welcomes eight newcomers – one transfer and seven freshmen – to the UNH women's lacrosse program in the 2016 season.

SCOUTING THE MINUTEWOMEN
UMass (Amherst, Mass.) is 1-0 following last Friday's 16-5 home win against the College of the Holy Cross. Nicole Troost led the way tallying five goals on just six shots. Hannah Murphy followed with four goals. Erika Eipp was the team's leader in assists with four and also added a goal to her stat line.

The Minutewomen return the reigning A-10 Offensive Player of the Year in senior Erika Eipp and A-10 Midfielder of the Year junior Hannah Murphy. Eipp led the team in points with 75. She was second on the team in goals with 45 and added a team leading 30 assists. Murphy led the team in goals with 46 and ranked second in points with 57.

Last season, UMass went 19-2 while winning the A-10 for the seventh straight season. The Minutewomen reached the NCAA tournament second round, where they fell to eventual champion Maryland. Head coach Angela McMahon is the program's all time win leader with 92.
