Griffin Buries One in 2-1 OT Loss at Albany

ALBANY, N.Y. – Sophomore Sydney Griffin (Hinsdale, Ill.) of the University of New Hampshire women's soccer team scored her second career goal in the first half as the University at Albany stormed back for a 2-1 overtime win for the Wildcats' first loss in America East play.

-1st Half-
Griffin scored her second goal of the season in the 25th minute on a fancy move five yards outside of the 18. She curled back with her right foot and took a blast with the left to place the ball top right outside of the keeper's reach. The Wildcats finished the half with the final two shots.
-2nd Half-
The Great Danes scored in the 67th minute to knot it up at one apiece. Williams took a long range shot that snuck inside the left post for her third of the year. Albany rifled five shots to UNH's two in the remainder of the half to send it to overtime tied.
-Overtime Period-
Just two minutes in, New Hampshire thought they had won it when Veronica Hardy (North Smithfield, R.I) took a shot outside the goalie box that bounced through the defense and off the far post and out of harm's way. Another shot by Lane was blocked moments later. Albany earned a corner on a deflection save from Borkan. The corner attempt, taken by Kopp of the Danes, curled into Borkan's area and off her extended hands and in for the win.
