America East Pre Conference Meet

Women's Cross Country Earns 2nd Place Finish at the Pre-America East Conference Meet

ORONO, Maine -- The University of New Hampshire women's cross country team competed in the Pre-America East Meet on Saturday morning at the University of Maine. Scored as a three dual meet, the Wildcats earned a second place finish (35 points).
Vermont took the top spot (23 points) while Maine (90 points) and UMass Lowell (96) came in third and fourth respectively.
Nine runners for UNH crossed the finish line in the top 20.
Sophomore Sarah Keiran (Rowley, Mass.) finished fourth overall with a time of 19:24 followed by sophomore Alex Giese (Franklin, Mass.) garnering a time of 19:27 taking fifth place.
McKenzie Haney (Penacook, N.H.) and Cassie Kruse (Londonderry, N.H.) rounded out the ninth and 10th spot. Haney completed the race with a time of 19:49 while sophomore Kruse was 11 seconds behind her (20:00).
Rachel Provost and senior Kellie Walker (North Branford, Conn.) took 12th and 13th position while finishing the race six seconds apart from one another with times of 20:03 and 20:09. Junior Brittany Hunt (Lynnfield, Mass.) ran a time of 20:16 earning 15th place. Freshmen Kayla Farren (Nashua, N.H.) placed 19th overall with a time of 20:29.
The 'Cats are back in action on Friday, Sept. 26 as the team heads to Franklin Park, Mass. to take part in the Boston College Invitational Coast to Coast Meet with a time TBA.
