•The UNH women seek to defend their New England Championship. In 2024, also at the Hopkinton State Fairgrounds, the Wildcats totaled 70 points to win the event for the first time since 2019.
•On Tuesday, sophomore Ruth White (Orono, Maine) was named the America East Women's Performer of the Week for the second time this season. On Oct. 3, White won the 6K Brown Race at the Paul Short Run, hosted by Lehigh, at the Goodman Campus Cross Country Course in Bethlehem, Pa. In a race that featured more than 340 student-athletes from schools including Syracuse, Binghamton, Buffalo, George Washington and Iona, White paced the field in a winning time of 20 minutes, 29.4 seconds. That was a convincing 12.1 seconds in front of runner-up Tayla Gunton of Iona.
•White, who previously earned the AE Women's XC Performer of the Week award Sept. 22, recorded her other 2025 wins in the 3K Suffolk Short Course Classic (Aug. 30) at the Mark Coogan XC Course at Highland Park (Attleboro, Mass.) and in the 5K Ted Owen Invitational (Sept. 20) at Stanley Quarter Park (New Britain, Conn.).
•On the men's side, senior Zachary Hooper (Concord, N.H.) was the top performing men's XC finisher at the Paul Short Run. Hooper finished in 39th place in a time of 25:26.40. In a field featuring more than 330 student-athletes, Hooper totaled 38 points, and sophomore Gavin Malark (Stratham, N.H.) placed 50th.
