Wildcat sophomore feted for second time following Friday victory in Paul Short Run
BOSTON – Following her third straight victory to open the 2025 women's cross country season, UNH sophomore Ruth White (Orono, Maine) was named Monday the America East Women's XC Performer of the Week.
On Friday, White won the 6K Brown Race at the Paul Short Run, hosted by Lehigh, at the Goodman Campus Cross Country Course in Bethlehem, Pa. In a race that featured more than 340 student-athletes from schools including Syracuse, Binghamton, Buffalo, George Washington and Iona, White paced the field in a winning time of 20 minutes, 29.4 seconds. That was a convincing 12.1 seconds in front of runner-up Tayla Gunton of Iona.
White, who previously earned the AE Women's XC Performer of the Week award Sept. 22, recorded her other 2025 wins in the 3K Suffolk Short Course Classic (Aug. 30) at the Mark Coogan XC Course at Highland Park (Attleboro, Mass.) and in the 5K Ted Owen Invitational (Sept. 20) at Stanley Quarter Park (New Britain, Conn.).

•The Wildcats will race in the 2025 New England Cross Country Championships at the Hopkinton Fairgrounds in Hopkinton, N.H., on Friday, Oct. 10. The women's 5K championship is slated for 2pm, followed by the men's 8K championship at 2:45pm.
