Men's Soccer Drops 3-0 Decision to Boston University

BOSTON — Sophomore back Ugochukwu Uche (Ann Arbor, Mich.) posted four shots, including two on goal attempts, but the University of New Hampshire men's soccer team fell to Boston University, 3-0, Wednesday evening at Nickerson Field.
The loss drops UNH to 6-8-2 overall and 1-3-2 in America East play, while BU improves to 9-7-0 and 5-1-0 in conference action.
The Terriers scored the game's first tally when Dominique Badji received a pass from Peter Mehlert and punched in his fifth goal of the season at 32:40, giving the home team the early 1-0 edge.
Boston University carried its advantage into the second half after outshooting UNH (11-0) in the first stanza. Despite the shot advantage, corner kicks were even at 1-1 at the end of the first half.
Ben Berube helped BU keep the pace up in the second frame, notching a score just 3:28 into play. Badji was also in on the goal, setting up Berube with a pass and he was able to finish the play, firing a shot that found the back of the net at 48:28.
Both squads remained scoreless for the next 32:31, until Stephen Knox put the game away for good with a goal at 80:59. Cameron Souri was credited with the assist on the play, helping the home team post a 3-0 advantage they would not relinquish.
Boston University finished the contest with a 21-10 edge in shots, as both teams were even with 10 shots apiece in the final frame of play. The Terriers also claimed the advantage in corner kicks (5-2), posting a 4-1 edge in the second half.
The Wildcats are back in action on Saturday, Oct. 29 (2 p.m.) when they take on the University at Albany at Varsity Field.
