Elinor, a senior from Montgomery, Vt. finished first in the NCAA Pre-National meet in Louisville, Ky. this past Saturday. Elinor posted a finishing time of 19.28.5, beating her previous time that she recorded in the 2016 pre-national meet of 20 minutes, 15.4 seconds, when she finished in 5th place overall.
Elinor beat out the defending national champion, Karissa Schweizer, in the final stretch of the race. She also broke tape at the Coast-to-Coast Battle in Beantown invitational in Boston last month.
The women's cross country team is preparing for the championship season, which starts next weekend at the America East Championships in Burlington, Vermont.
