Jakob Hellsten (Ljusdal, Sweden), a junior goalie for the UNH men’s hockey team, was named a Service Credit Union Student-Athlete of the Week on Oct. 30. He went 2-0-0 in his first two games as a Wildcat last week.

He only allowed two goals and made 39 saves for a 1.00 goals-against-average and .951 save percentage.

Jakob made 15 saves and allowed one goal for a .938 save percentage in the 4-1 win versus No. 17 Northeastern on Oct. 26, then posted 24 saves and allowed one goal for a .960 save percentage in the 3-1 win against Dartmouth on Oct. 28.

The Wildcats return to action versus No. 7 Providence on Friday, Nov. 3 at the Whittemore Center at Key Auto Group Complex at 7 p.m. on ESPN+. The UNH Marching Band will perform on the ice during the first intermission. Also, there will be a Coat Drive in the lobby for 'Cats Cupboard.
