Morgan Winters Selected Hockey East Player of the Week

Winters posted three points on Oct. 9 in the 4-3 win at No. 2 Michigan State
AMESBURY, Mass. – University of New Hampshire senior captain Morgan Winters (Osprey, Fla.) was named the Hockey East Player of the Week. This is the second time in his career he has won this honor as he also earned the accolade as a sophomore on Oct. 17, 2023.
Winters posted two goals and one assist for three points on Oct. 9 in the 4-3 win at No. 2 Michigan State. He tied the game at 1-1 with a power play goal at 14:02 of the first period, while he gave the 'Cats a 2-1 lead just 24 seconds after the opening faceoff of the second period. Winters also recorded an assist on the game winner by junior alternate captain Marty Lavins (Riga, Latvia) with just 5.2 seconds left in the third period.
For his career, Winters has played in 81 games with 18 goals and 25 assists for 43 points.
The Wildcats will start their Hockey East schedule at Merrimack on Saturday, Oct. 18 at 6 p.m. The home season will begin versus LIU (Friday, Oct. 24) and No. 10 Quinnipiac (Saturday, Oct. 25). Both games start at 7 p.m.
