Kym Gordon appeared in 13 matches and 35 sets during the 2014 season. She ranked third on the team in hitting percentage (.233) and fifth in blocks per set (0.46 bps). On Sept. 13th against Dartmouth, Gordon totaled season-high 10 kills and 12.5 points.
2013Â Redshirt season due to NCAA transfer regulations.
COMMUNITY SERVICE: Gordon has volunteered with the Boys and Girls Club (2013), Dig Pink event (2013-present), Freedom Cafe (2014-present), Habitat for Humanity (2013), Read Across America (2014), Red Wagon Reading Days and the Volley for Holly tournament (2014-present).
BEFORE UNH: At Canandaigua Academy, Gordon was a three-sport athlete, playing volleyball, basketball and track & field. In 2009, Gordon aided the volleyball team to a New York Class AA championship while being named Most Valuable Player in the tournament. In addition, she received an Under Armour Girls High School All-America honorable mention that season. The following year, she was named Female Athlete of the Year at Canandaigua Academy. Gordon was named to the All-Greater Rochester First team all four years of high school as well as being named to the Daily Messenger All-League First team in 2008 and 2009.
PERSONAL: Born August 18, 1993 in Rochester, New York…Daughter of Alice and John Gordon…Majoring in communications...Lists LeBron James as her favorite athlete...Was named to the Dean’s List at the University of Akron and Mississippi State University....Currently a member of the National Society of Collegiate Scholars and the National Honor Society....Was a member of Sigma Alpha Lambda.
