Jenny Simpson ’13 returned to the UNH women’s lacrosse program as an assistant coach in September 2022.
Simpson, a four-year standout on the UNH women’s lacrosse team, spent the past three seasons at the College of William & Mary, where she was an assistant coach who worked with the attack, and assisted with game plans, scouting reports and all aspects of film.
In addition to mentoring players, Simpson’s duties included team travel, alumni relations, finances, equipment and the team’s social media content.
Prior to joining W&M in October 2019, she was an assistant coach for the U19 England National Team in summer ’19. Simpson was the head of lacrosse at Caterham School from May 2016 to July 2019. While there, she coordinated logistics for games and tournaments, communication with coaches and players, practice plans and travel for 15 teams. Under her direction in ’19, the varsity team advanced to the national semifinals and four additional age groups had a to-16 finish at the UK National Schools Tournament.
Simpson graduated cum laude from New Hampshire with a Kinesiology degree in 2013. She recorded single-season bests and team highs in both goals (42) and points (47) as a senior to finish her career with 111 goals and 21 assists for 132 points in 64 games (56 starts).
Simpson’s collegiate accolades included America East All-Second Team as a senior and three-time selection to the conference’s All-Academic Team. She was a two-time member of the National College Athlete Honor Society, Chi Sigma Alpha.
Simpson was a member of the Senior England Women’s National Team from October 2015 through April 2022 and served as captain from April ’18 to July ’19. She won a gold medal at the European Lacrosse Championship in 2019 and a bronze medal at the women’s Lacrosse World Cup in ’17.
Following graduation, Simpson began her coaching career with England Lacrosse as head coach at Surrey Sports Park, University of Surrey and other local schools and clubs in August 2013. She was also the U19 England National Team guest attacking coach (August 2014) and Senior England National Team guest attacking coach (January 2015).
Simpson’s other coaching experience includes U18 assistant junior development coach with Scotland lacrosse.
