CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – The No. 17 University of New Hampshire men's hockey team fell No. 1 Boston College, 6-1, on Friday night at Conte Forum in Hockey East action.
With the loss, the Wildcats fall to 14-10-1 (7-7-1 Hockey East), while the Eagles improve to 20-5-1 (13-3-1 Hockey East).

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- BC went out to a 3-0 lead in the first period with a goal by Cutter Gauthier (1:07) and power play goals by Jack Malone (2:36) and Ryan Leonard (4:35).
- The Eagles made it a 4-0 contest at 11:47 of the second period when Will Smith found the back of the net on the power play.
- At 4:55 of the third period, junior forward Robert Cronin (Plymouth, Mass.) sent the faceoff to senior assistant captain Harrison Blaisdell (Regina, Saskatchewan) who blasted a one-timer to the back of the net to make the score 4-1. The goal was Blaisdell's sixth of the season. Blaisdell and Cronin extended their points streaks to five games.
- But Malone then scored his second goal of the game at 5:46 and Gauthier netted his second at 16:40 on the man-advantage for the 6-1 final.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
- UNH outshot BC, 31-27.
- The Wildcats went 0-3 on the power play and the Eagles went 4-7 on the power play.
- Junior goalie Jakob Hellsten (Ljusdal, Sweden) recorded 21 saves for the Wildcats and is now 9-7-1 on the year, while Jabob Fowler tallied 30 saves for the Eagles and improved to 20-5-1.
