DURHAM, N.H. – Aaron Gray has joined the University of New Hampshire women's lacrosse program as an assistant coach, effective immediately. The announcement was made Tuesday by UNH first-year head coach Taylor Bastien.
"I am extremely excited to welcome Aaron to the Wildcat family," Bastien said. "Aaron is passionate about the game of lacrosse and is eager to teach and mentor. He brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to UNH that will elevate the program. I am looking forward to bringing Aaron on board!"
Gray has a robust lacrosse background spanning more than 10 years in coaching programs at various levels from Division I to high school. He comes to UNH from UMass Lowell, where he spent the 2023 and 2024 seasons as an assistant coach. The River Hawks had their best season-to-season improvement as a Division I program with six wins in 2023 and a DI program-best 12 wins in '24, which also marked UML's first conference tournament appearance.
"I am thrilled to join the staff at UNH," Gray said. "The team started a very exciting new chapter this fall, and I am eager to help the program reach its highest potential. The Athletic Department has welcomed me warmly, and I thank coach Bastien for this opportunity."
At UMass Lowell, Gray developed all positions, including goalies and draw takers, to improve technique, and skill while also developing offensive strategy. He served as the team's director of operations and video coordinator.
Gray was a volunteer assistant for the University of Colorado in 2021 and 2022. His responsibilities there included planning practices, developing game strategy, and serving as the video coordinator.
Gray's other coaching experience includes both varsity and junior varsity coach for the Sacramento Lacrosse Club in 2019. As the coach of both teams, he coordinated drills for various skill levels and met with all levels of the club to coordinate the overall vision.
In his first coaching stint at the collegiate level, Gray spent six years at Colorado as defensive coordinator for the men's lacrosse team. Gray's coaching journey began as an assistant at Miami Country Day School in 2012.
Gray graduated from Colorado in 2010 with a bachelor's degree in Business Management and he earned a MBA in Sports Administration from St. Thomas University in 2013.
