BOSTON – The University of New Hampshire women's basketball team placed 10 student-athletes on the America East Academic Honor Roll in Spring 2023 with a breakdown of nine players earning Commissioner's Honor Roll recognition and one making the Honor Roll.
Commissioner's Honor Roll recognizes student-athletes who recorded a Spring 2023 semester grade point average of 3.50 or higher; 75 percent of UNH's team received this accolade. Student-athletes with a GPA between 3.0 and 3.49 are named to the Honor Roll. Overall, 83 percent of the squad received one of the conference's academic honors.
Freshman Aina Roque Sucarrats (Cervera, Spain) recorded a perfect 4.0 GPA in the Spring '23 semester.
She was joined on the Commissioner's Honor Roll by the lone senior on the team, Brooke Kane (Derry, N.H.), as well as juniors Adara Groman (Hopkinton, Mass.), Belen Morales Lopez (Bellreguard, Spain) and Bella Stuart (Clifton Park, N.Y.).
Sophomore Kenzie Matulonis (Raynham, Mass.) and freshmen Karolina Andersson (Söderköping, Sweden), Diana Eliasson (Stockholm, Sweden) and Avery O'Connor (Dedham, Mass.) also earned a place on the Commissioner's Honor Roll.
Junior Paige Cote (Sanford, Maine) was named to the Honor Roll.
Seventy-seven percent of student-athletes who competed in America East sponsored sports this year earned Honor Roll recognition for earning at least a 3.0 GPA during the 2022 fall or 2023 spring semesters. Of that group, 52 percent of student-athletes and 1,797 in total earned Commissioner's Honor Roll status for registering a GPA of 3.5 or better. Overall, 2,694 America East student-athletes earned Academic Honor Roll in 2022-23. The marks the 18th consecutive year America East student-athletes have averaged at least a 3.0 GPA.
America East is proud to have one of most comprehensive academic awards programs in the country, which honors over two-thirds of its student-athletes for their success in the classroom, including its sports Scholar-Athletes and All-Academic honorees, Presidential Scholar-Athletes and its Honor Roll Elite 18 recipients.
