DeChent's 29 Points Not Enough As 'Cats Fall 65-54 to Maine

DURHAM, N.H. – Sophomore guard Eva DeChent (Westchester, N.Y.) scored 29 points, but it wasn't enough as the University of New Hampshire women's basketball team was defeated by Maine, 65-54, on Thursday evening at Lundholm Gym.
The Wildcats fall to 8-14 on the season (2-7 America East), while the Black Bears improve to 11-10 (6-2).

- UNH travels to Baltimore, M.D. for a matchup with UMBC on Thursday, Feb. 6 at 6:30 p.m. at Chesapeake Employers Insurance Arena.

- The Black Bears jumped out to an early 13-4 lead as they made six of eight attempts from the field, prompting a UNH timeout with 3:37 to go in the opening frame.
- Maine took a 17-11 lead after one quarter.

- UNH opened the second quarter with a 7-0 run to take its first lead of the game (18-17) at the 7:11 mark.
- DeChent's second 3-pointer of the game gave UNH a 23-22 edge at the media timeout (4:28).
