‘Cats return to action on Nov. 17-18 versus Northeastern.
PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Philip Svedebӓck recorded a shutout for the Friars as the No. 15 University of New Hampshire men's hockey team fell to No. 7 Providence, 2-0, on Saturday night at Schneider Arena.
The Wildcats are now 4-2-1 (2-1-1 Hockey East), while the Friars are 6-1-2 (2-0-2 Hockey East).

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- 1:38 into the game, the Friars swarmed the net and grabbed a goal off the rebound from junior goaltender Jakob Hellsten (Ljusdal, Sweden) that deflected off of a UNH player and went into the back of the net. Guillaume Richard was credited with the goal.
- At 18:19 into the second period, Jamie Engelbert shot the puck under Hellsten's blocker as he scored on his own rebound, to give the Friars a 2-0 lead.
- With 17:31 left in the game, UNH pulled Hellsten to get an extra skater on the ice, but were unable to find the back of the net for the 2-0 final.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
- UNH outshot Providence, 20-18.
- The Wildcats went 0-4 on the power play while the Friars went 0-3.
