STORRS, Conn. – The University of New Hampshire women's hockey team recorded a 26-24 shot advantage but was defeated 4-0 by UConn at Toscano Family Ice Forum on Saturday.

Freshman goaltender Sedona Blair (Eden Prairie, Minn.) made eight saves in the first period, followed by three in the second and nine in the third. UConn counterpart Megan Warrener stopped 26 shots to record the first shutout of the Wildcats this season.

Jada Habisch was the only skater to record multiple points with a goal and an assist.

UNH moves to 4-3-1 overall and 2-1-1 in Hockey East, while UConn is now 2-3-1, 1-3-0.

New Hampshire returns to the road next weekend for a two-game series at the University of Vermont on Oct. 27-28.
The Wildcats' next home game is Saturday, Nov. 4 (7 p.m.) against Providence College.

FIRST PERIOD

UConn scored goals 1 minute, 37 seconds apart to quickly transform a scoreless game into a 2-0 lead.
Christina Walker scored what proved to be the game-winning goal with a power-play tally at 6:31 and Ashley Allard scored at 8:08.

SECOND PERIOD

UConn scored the only goal of the second stanza despite UNH's 12-4 shot advantage.
The Huskies extended the advantage to 3-0 on Kathryn Stockdale's shorthanded goal at 13:06.

THIRD PERIOD

UConn netted another shorthanded goal by Habisch at 13:20.

GAME NOTEBOOK

New Hampshire recorded a 26-24 shot advantage.
UConn had a 30-22 edge in the faceoff circle.
The Huskies scored three goals on special teams. They were 1-for-4 on the power play and netted a pair of shorthanded tallies.
