DURHAM, N.H. – Graduate student goalkeeper Cat Sheppard (Nesconset, N.Y.) of the University of New Hampshire women's soccer team has officially entered the National Women's Soccer League draft. The NWSL is currently the highest level of professional women's soccer in the world.
The draft is set for Thursday, Jan. 12 at 6 p.m. ET and is presented by Ally and will be held during the United Soccer Coaches Convention at the Pennsylvania Convention Center in Philadelphia.
Coverage of the draft will begin on CBS Sports Network from 6 to 7 p.m. ET. The draft will then stream live on Paramount+ and CBS Sports HQ from 7 to 11 p.m. ET.
Sheppard had an incredible career throughout her five-year stint with the Wildcats. She played a total of 62 games and ended her time as a Wildcat with a 0.812 save percentage. Sheppard racked up a total of 5,481 minutes for the Wildcats and had a 1.02 goals against average. This stat pins her as the goalie with the lowest goals against average in UNH Women's Soccer program history. During her time in a Wildcat uniform, she was consistently in the top five for goals against average among all goalies in the conference.
Sheppard was a vital part in this past season's success. The team rounded out the season with a 9-6-3 record which included three shutouts for the goalkeeper.
