New Hampshire Receives Recognition as IWLCA Academic Squad
NORTHBOROUGH, Mass. – The University of New Hampshire women's lacrosse team has been named an Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association Academic Honor Squad for the 2021-22 academic year and seven Wildcats made the 2022 IWLCA Division I Academic Honor Roll. The announcement was made Wednesday afternoon by the IWLCA.
To be eligible for the Academic Honor Roll, student-athletes must be a junior, senior or grad student and have earned a cumulative grade point average of 3.50 or higher. A team must have posted a 3.20 or higher GPA for the 2021-22 academic year to qualify for the prestigious Academic Honor Squad distinction.
Seniors Emily Curtis (Walpole, Mass.), Lily Powell (Marcellus, N.Y.), Grace Purdy (Saratoga Springs, N.Y.) and Adena Rothbard (Newport Beach, Calif.) were all named to the Academic Honor Roll for the second consecutive year.
Juniors Jesslyn Hounchell (Manchester, N.H.), Danielle Martineau (Gilford, N.H.) and Ava Schroeder (Niskayuna, N.Y.) are all first-time honorees.
All seven Wildcats were recently named to the 2021-22 America East Commissioner's Honor Roll for recording a 3.50 or higher GPA in Spring 2022. Of that septet, Powell, Rothbard and Schroeder all recorded a perfect 4.0 that semester.
New Hampshire recorded a 3.54 team GPA during competition season this past spring to mark an improvement over the already impressive 3.50 team GPA in Fall 2021.
