
Three 'Cats Receive America East All-Conference Awards

BOSTON – Sophomores Kelsey MacCallum (Franklin, Mass.) and Mackenzie MacEachern (Bedford, N.H.) and freshman Allie Connerty (Norwell, Mass.) of the University of New Hampshire women's lacrosse team received all-conference awards from America East on Wednesday.
MacEachern was named to the All-Conference Second Team, Connerty was an All-Rookie Team selection and MacCallum was voted to the All-Academic Team, which recognizes the combination of a student-athlete's academic and athletic success.
MacEachern had a breakout season in 2022. She led UNH in goals (34), points (43), shots (71) and game-winning goals in 15 games (all starts). In other stats, the midfielder ranked second in draw controls (46) and shooting percentage (.479), tied for second in caused turnovers (12), and was fourth in assists (nine).
With those stats, she is No. 9 in America East in both goals per game (2.27) and points per game (2.87).
MacEachern ended the season on 13-game goal and point streaks in which she recorded 33 goals and eight assists for 41 points; those are averages of 2.54 goals and 3.15 points per game. Overall, MacEachern tallied a goal and point in 14 of 15 games with eight multiple-goal games and 10 games with multiple points.
In six conference games, she tallied 16 goals and three assists for 19 points. In conference-only stats, MacEachern ranked fifth in draw controls per game (3.67), eighth in goals per game and ninth in points per game.
MacEachern's season highlights included a career-high five goals vs. Bryant University and personal bests in both assists (four) and points (seven) vs. Central Connecticut State.
Connerty was UNH's leader in assists with 23 and tied for second in points with 36 in 14 games played (all starts). The attacker also tied for fourth in ground balls (18). On the conference leaderboard, she is No. 2 in the conference in assists per game at 1.64.
Connerty recorded a point in 12 of 14 games with 10 multiple-point efforts, including a career-high five points (two goals, three assists) against the University of Vermont. She tallied an assist in 11 of 14 games and that included seven games with multiple assists with a high of four at Binghamton University. Connerty scored a high of two goals five times. Her other highlights included a seven-game assist and point streak spanning March 2 to April 6.
In five America East games, Connerty tallied five goals and 12 assists for 17 points to rank second in assists per game and seventh in points per game.
MacCallum has a perfect 4.0 cumulative grade-point average in pursuit of a biochemistry: molecular and cellular biology degree. In 14 games (11 starts), she tallied 21 goals and 15 assists for 36 points to rank tied for second in points, third in assists and fourth in goals.
With those stats, she is No. 8 in the league in assists per game (1.07).
MacCallum's season highlights included a 10-game goal and point streak that also included a seven-game assist streak. She scored a career-high four goals vs. UAlbany, tallied a best of three assists against both Central Connecticut St. and Bryant, and finished with a personal-best five points at Boston University.
The attacker recorded a goal and point in 12 of 14 games with five multiple-goal games and 10 games with multiple points. MacCallum had five multiple-assist games and eight games overall with an assist.
New Hampshire finished the 2022 season with a 7-8 overall record, including 2-4 in America East, under the direction of first-year head coach Kacie Lewis.
