DURHAM, N.H – Senior midfield Shayna Salis (Bedford, N.H.) of the University of New Hampshire women's soccer team has signed a professional contract to play in the country of Israel. Her contract starts in early August.
Salis signed a 10-month long contract with WFC Ramat Hasharon on Dec. 1. She participated in the Maccabi Games, or the Israeli Olympics, during the month of July for Team USA. Her team was very successful in the Games, winning a gold medal. During the Games, she was scouted by Ramat Hasharon ultimately leading to her official offer to play on the team starting in August 2023.
While at UNH, Salis was part of the America East playoffs every season as a Wildcat.* This past season, her senior season, she helped the team capture it's second America East Championship in program history. She was also part of the program's second NCAA Tournament appearance.

"We are incredibly proud and very excited for Shayna to take the next step as a professional player. She has the opportunity to realize a dream and play at the next level in a region of the world that is both very special and very special to her personally. 'Shay' was able to win a gold medal last summer in the Maccabiah Games for Team USA and this looked to act as a springboard and motivation for her to achieve greater things. I speak for our entire coaching staff when I say that we are all thrilled to see her continue her game, compete at the next level and we know there are wonderful days ahead for her. We wish 'Shay' all the best and we could not be more proud of her."
Salis played 58 games in a UNH jersey, accumulating 1328 minutes.
"I would like to thank the UNH coaching staff, my teammates as well as the clubs I have been a part of for developing me into the player I am today," said Salis.
*The Wildcats qualified for the Spring 2021 America East semifinal, but had to withdrawl due to COVID-19.
