The Matchup
New Hampshire and Holy Cross were originally scheduled to face off the second weekend of the season (Nov. 27-28). The games were originally announced as canceled, but now the Wildcats and Crusaders will face off Wednesday, Dec. 23 at the Whittemore Center. Start time is 3 p.m.
UNH has won all previous seven meetings vs. Holy Cross. Last season, the Wildcats recorded a pair of 3-0 home wins as well as a 5-2 road win.

New Hampshire (2-6-0 overall, 2-6-0 Hockey East) split a two-game series at Vermont last weekend with UVM taking the opener, 4-2, on Saturday and UNH responding with a 2-0 victory Sunday.
Prior to the UVM series, four consecutive games were decided by one goal, and that included three losses by a 2-1 score (as well as a 4-3 win vs. Boston University).
Through eight games, UNH is averaging 1.75 goals on 23.2 shots per game while allowing 2.88 goals and 31.0 shots per game. The Wildcats power play has not scored a goal (one shorthanded goal allowed) in 26 opportunities, and the penalty kill is 22-for-25 (88%).
UNH recorded a 2-0 win Sunday at Vermont despite recording a season-low 16 shots.

New Hampshire's penalty kill has been perfect each of the past three games (11 shorthanded situations) and has 13 consecutive kills dating back to Maine's second-period power-play goal Dec. 11.
'Cat Stat Leaders
Sophomore forward Tamara Thiérus leads the team in both goals (four) and points (seven). She ranks second in shooting percentage (.190), is tied for second in plus/minus (+1) and is third in shots (21).
Freshman forward Nicole Kelly recorded an assist in both UVM games last weekend to increase her team-leading season total to six; she also has a team-high 32 shots. Kelly's six points ranks second. Kelly has tallied an assist in 5 of 8 games this season.
Emily Rickwood and Maddie Truax rank 1-2 in blocked shots with 17 and 10, respectively; Rickwood blocked seven shots this past Saturday at Vermont, and that is the highest single-game total for a Wildcat this season.
Redshirt junior Ava Boutilier has six starts in as many games played with a 2-4-0 record, 2.87 GAA and .908 save percentage. Boutilier stopped all 30 shots faced Sunday at Vermont to record her first shutout of the season and eighth of her career. She stopped 65 of 69 shots (.942 save percentage) in the two-game series at UVM; that includes a season-high 35 saves in Saturday's 4-2 loss.
