DURHAM, N.H. –The University of New Hampshire women's lacrosse team, led by eighth-year head coach Sarah Albrecht, has announced its schedule for the 2020 season. The Wildcats have a 15-game schedule that includes seven home games and eight away games.
The season begins Feb. 11 home at Wildcat Stadium against Division I newcomer Merrimack College, which won the Northeast 10 tournament championship last year. UNH travels to New Rochelle, N.Y. to take on Iona College – a team the Wildcats defeated last year – on Feb. 16.
Following their matchup at Iona, the Wildcats return for a three-game homestand against Central Connecticut State University (Feb. 21), UConn (Feb. 23) and Fairfield University (March 1). Last season, UNH defeated UConn and CCSU but fell short against Fairfield as part of a 4-1 record against teams from the Nutmeg State.
New Hampshire then travels to play Ivy League schools Dartmouth College (March 7) and Harvard University (March 11). The intrastate rivalry between the Wildcats and Big Green is renewed in Hanover after a one-year hiatus.
UNH begins its seven-game America East conference slate March 22 at Wildcat Stadium against the University of Vermont. The 'Cats cap off the month with a trip to Binghamton University (March 28).
April's schedule is highlighted by two home games – April 1 against UAlbany and April 18 vs. UMass Lowell. The Wildcats play three road games in less than a week (April 4-10) at UMBC, Boston University and University of Hartford. After the April 18 meeting against the River Hawks, UNH wraps up the 2020 regular season April 25 at Stony Brook University.
The 2020 America East tournament will be held April 30 & May 2 at the site of the highest seed. UNH has been a semifinalist each of the past four years.
