Thiérus Named Rookie of the Week

Tamara Thiérus earns first weekly honor from the conference.
WAKEFIELD, Mass. – University of New Hampshire women's hockey freshman Tamara Thiérus (Saint-Jérôme, Quebec) was named the Pro Ambitions Rookie of the Week by the Hockey East conference on Monday morning.
Thiérus, who ranks 17th in the nation in rookie points per game, has tallied eight points already in her debut season. This past weekend she tallied her first career goal at #7 BC on Friday, and tallied her team-second-best seventh assist on Sunday in a 3-0 victory over Holy Cross.
Late last week with the release of the Hockey East Women's Monthly Awards for the months of September and October, Thiérus was named a runner up to BC's Hannah Bilka for Rookie of the Month honors.
This is Thiérus' first career honor and UNH's second rookie of the month award of the 2019-2020 season.
Thiérus and the Wildcats are at home for a two-game series this weekend with the Vermont Catamounts; the series begins Friday night, November 8 at 6 P.M. and is followed up by the third annual Stick it to Stigma game on Saturday, November 9 at 3 P.M.
