DURHAM, N.H. – Sophomore forward Angus Crookshank (North Vancouver, British Columbia) scored two goals for UNH including the game winner in overtime in the 3-2 win over Michigan in front of 6,038 fans on Saturday evening at the Whittemore Center. Senior forward Charlie Kelleher (Longmeadow, Mass.) posted two assists and set up the goal in overtime with a pass to the front of the net. With the win UNH improves to 6-5-1 while Michigan falls to 4-8-2.
UP NEXT: On Friday and Saturday, Nov. 29-30, UNH will compete in the 2019 Friendship Four at the SSE Arena in Belfast, Northern Ireland. The Wildcats will play a Hockey East game versus Northeastern on Friday at 10 a.m. (ET) on NESN, and then take on either Colgate or Princeton on Saturday at either 10 a.m. or 2 p.m. (ET).
NEXT HOME GAME: The Wildcats will return to the Whittemore Center on Friday, December 6 when they take on Merrimack at 7 p.m. on NESN as the game is presented by Geico. The 2020 UNH Hockey Calendar will be the giveaway. The Wildcat Toy Drive will also be held at the game. HOW IT HAPPENED
Michigan got on the board first at 11:35 in the first period on the power play after a shot from Jimmy Lambert rung off the post, Michael Pastujov took a pass from Jack Summers, moved up in the zone and netted a wrist shot through the five hole of Michael Robinson (Bedford, N.H.) to take a 1-0 lead.
Michigan outshot UNH 8-5 in the first period, as well as going 1-1 on the power play while UNH was 0-2.
UNH tied the game up at 1:05 in the second period, on a Michigan pass across their own zone Crookshank stole the puck and finished stick side past Hayden Levinge on the breakaway.

Michigan regained the lead 2-1 at 13:30 in the second period. Nolan Moyle flicked the puck up to Garrett Van Whye from the blue line, Van Whye had it low in the zone and fired a pass across to Jake Slaker right in front of the net, Slaker went forehand to backhand right on the crease and finished low glove side for the goal.
The Wildcats answered quickly to tie the game 2-2 at 16:07 in the second period on a power play goal from junior defender Max Gildon (Plano, T.X.). Freshman defender Kalle Eriksson (Leksand, Sweden) moved the puck to Kelleher in the zone and Kelleher fired a pass across the ice and through the defense to an open Gildon who finished on a one timer into the back of the net.

Michigan outshot UNH 14-10 in the second period. UNH was 1-1 on the power play while Michigan was 0-1.
Neither team was able to score in the third period as the game went into overtime.
The Wildcats won the game just 36 seconds after the opening face-off of overtime 3-2 on a goal from Crookshank. The puck was coming out of the zone before Kelleher got his stick on it right at the blue line and pushed the puck to Crookshank just in front of the net. Crookshank made a backhand to forehand move before finishing stick side from right in front of the net to close out the game.

Michigan outshot UNH by a 27-24 margin.
Junior goalie Mike Robinson (Bedford, N.H.) made 22 saves, while Lavigne recorded 24.
The Wildcats went 1-5 on the power play and the Wolverines went 1-3.

UNH has played in an overtime game seven times in the 13 games this season and are 4-2-1.
The school record for overtime wins is five in 1972-73.
