Wildcats Fall to #12 Northeastern, 4-0

UNH to play Princeton on Saturday at 10 AM (ET)
BELFAST, Northern Ireland – Ryan Shea posted a goal and two assists for three points and Craig Pantano made 25 saves as the University of New Hampshire men's hockey team fell to No. 12 Northeastern, 4-0, in Hockey East action on Friday in the first game of the fifth annual Friendship Four at SSE Arena in Belfast, Northern Ireland. The Wildcats fall to 6-6-1 (3-4-0 Hockey East), while the Huskies improve to 9-4-2 (6-3-1 Hockey East).
UP NEXT: The Wildcats will return to action on Saturday, Nov. 30 at 10 a.m. (ET) for the third-place game versus Princeton on NESNplus, ESPN+ and TSN.ca.
UP NEXT: The Wildcats will return to the Whittemore Center on Friday, December 6 when they take on Merrimack at 7 p.m. on NESN. The game is presented by GEICO. The 2020 UNH Hockey Calendar will be the giveaway. The Wildcat Toy Drive will also be held at the game. HOW IT HAPPENED
- The first period went scoreless as UNH outshot Northeastern, 8-7, while each team went 0-2 on the power play.
- At 6:43 of the second period, Northeastern took a 1-0 lead as Shea sent a wrist shot from the slot to the upper glove side of the net.
- Zach Solow netted the second goal of the game when he tipped a shot by Shea on the power play at 18:40 past the glove side.
- UNH outshot Northeastern by an 11-8 margin, while the Wildcats went 0-1 on the man-advantage and the Huskies went 1-3.
- Northeastern increased its lead to 3-0 when T.J. Walsh jumped on a loose puck from in front of the goal and sent it to the glove side of the net at 6:46 of the third period.
- Northeastern took a 4-0 lead at 10:07 of the third period as John Picking tipped a shot by Tyler Madden.
- Neither team scored again for the 4-0 final.
