DURHAM, N.H. - The University of New Hampshire women's ice hockey team enters November playing another split weekend home and away; they travel to Chestnut Hill, Massachusetts on Friday, November 1, for a 2 P.M. matchup with #7 Boston College, and return home Sunday, November 3 to host Holy Cross at 2 P.M.
The Wildcats come into the weekend with the second-most points in women's Hockey East play, at seven total points. The first place team, Boston College, has 13, and the third place team, Boston University, has five.
LAST TIME OUT
- The Wildcats went an even 1-1-0 in conference play last weekend, dropping a home matchup with Maine 3-0, and defeating Providence College on the road 6-2.
- In Friday's home loss, New Hampshire was outshot 31-19 by Maine, and despite holding off the Black Bears for the first period and a half, the Wildcats were unable to muster a goal.
- On Saturday, the Wildcats bounced by defeating the Friars 6-2 at Schneider Arena. New Hampshire got two goals from senior captain Carlee Turner (Scottsdale, Ariz.) and sophomore Lauren Martin (Cambridge, Ontario). Turner also added an assist for a game-high three points.
- Redshirt sophomore goaltender Ava Boutilier (Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island) bounced back from her 28 save loss with a 32 save victory, allowing just two goals in each game.
ABOUT BOSTON COLLEGE
- The Eagles (Chestnut Hill, Mass.) are ranked #7 in the country after a 1-0-1 weekend in Hockey East play. They are 6-0-1 in conference so far this season, 7-0-1 overall.
- Last season the two teams split their season series 1-1-1.
- In last weekend's slate, Boston College took a win from Holy Cross and tied with Maine, 3-3.
ABOUT HOLY CROSS
- The Crusaders (Worcester, Mass.) are in their second season in Hockey East after joining last season.
- Holy Cross holds a 0-6-3 overall record and a 0-3-0 Hockey East record; before traveling to Durham, Holy Cross will take on Providence College at home Friday evening.
- The Crusaders are coming off a 0-1-1 weekend, 0-1-0 in conference; they faced Boston College on Friday, October 25 and fell by a score of 5-1. On the following Sunday they tied Rensselaer, 2-2.
